The general experience level of these rides are for Intermediate riders,
Rides are Cruising with some scenery stops.
Novices should not participate.

California's Central Sierra Mountains and Gold Country:
Based out of Sonora CA, with a day or two in South Lake Tahoe area.

Stops in places like; Glacier Point, Yosemite Valley, Columbia State Park (ol' west city), Calaveras Big Trees, Virgina City, big Reno Honda Dealer, etc.

The Rides & Maps

Day 1 - Southern Passes Loop
Leave Sonora east on the 108, over Sonora Pass to 395, south to Lee Vining for lunch, west over Tioga Pass through Yosemite and back to Sonora
Driving distance: 239 miles
Driving time: 5 hours, 15 minutes
End Of Day Lodging: Aladdin Inn, Sonora

Day 2 - Touring Yosemite
Sonora south on the twisty Little Dragon (Hwy 49) through Mariposa to Oakhurst then up the 41 to Yosemite's south entrance, tour Yosemite including Glacier Point and the Valley, then up to the northern gate and west on the 120 back to Sonora.
Driving distance: 229 miles
Driving time: 5 hours, 15 minutes

Day 3 - Transition to Blue Water
A "shortcut" from Sonora to Hwy 4 East, a stop at Big Trees and then over the stunning Ebbetts Pass, then south over Monitor Pass on Hwy 89 to Topaz - then either 395 up to Tahoe or 89 to 88 to Tahoe.
Driving distance: 219 miles
Driving time: 5 hours

Day 4 - Blue Tahoe Loop
Up the West side of the lake, some cool back roads, visits to Viginia City &/or Reno, then back on 431 and down the East side of Tahoe.
Driving distance: 219 miles
Driving time: 5 hours, 15 minutes

Day 5 - Golden Hills
Leaving Tahoe we'll cross our final summit on the 88 into Gold country, a quick side trip west on the 26 will take us to an early lunch at Mel's. Then south on the 49 and a few side routes back to Sonora. We should be in Sonora early enough so those that want to head home can get there before dark (even LA). Or you can stay in Sonora, then head for home.
