In Greensburg, Indiana you can see a tree growing out of the top of the courthouse roof. This is a famous local landmark.
This overhang is on State Road 7 as you enter Madison, Indiana. I remember stopping here as a kid. You can't see it in the picture, but there is a very small waterfall that comes over the edge. That my red wing and my wife (trying to hide).
This is tobacco country. You will see many barns along the river with tobacco hanging. I don't smoke but the aroma of the tobacco when you get close is enticing.
The ride along the Ohio River is full of beautiful views of the River.
Oldenburg is known as the City of Spires. This is an old German town that hosted a convent.
While in Oldenburg make sure that you stop at Wagner's for fried chicken family style. $7.95 per person and they bring you cole slaw, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, and a whole chicken for each two people. A whole chicken is 10 pieces, they include the back and another cut that I'm not sure what it is. This is the real thing - pan fried chicken made fresh.
