His retirement years brought him and his wife to Teague, Texas, from Arlington, Texas. His love of the land, of nurturing the land, of watching calves grow and thrive under the mama cow's care made retirement a time of pleasure. At the same time, retirement allowed him to travel, for he loved to travel on his motorcycle. His pleasure of riding with friends, the challenges presented by the Iron Butt Association, and the patriotic endeavors of participation in the Tour of Honor all created memories he cherished and loved to share. |
