Neil was born September 24, 1949, in Brantford, ON, the cherished only child of Ralph and Lois Ward and raised on their family farm on Curries Road. He is survived by his devoted wife Joanne, whom he always referred to as “his bride”. His loving children Matthew (wife Heather) and Jennifer; and her children Nevan and Leila; stepchildren Lisa and Derek (wife Janet) and their children Charlotte and Isabella. His Aunts Nancy and Dianne, Uncle Lionel (Jean), cousins, their spouses, and children. Sister-in-law Beverley, brother-in-law the late Michael (wife Marlene) and the many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family who all thought the world of him. Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Lois Ward and Granny Agnes. Neil was a lover of airplanes, trucks, motorcycles. He formed a very successful Trucking company, J&N Transport Inc., and was referred to by his drivers as the "best boss ever". A skilled craftsman in the garage, he was a gifted musician and singer (often joined by Joanne and his parents). He had a passionate curiosity about the world, and was a voracious reader.
