Come and get it - four days of dirt road riding in the high mountain passes of the San Juan Mountains. This ride is recommended for experienced riders on true dual purpose bikes (Rock and Rollers). Most of the riding will be at altitudes above 10,000 feet. The roads will be rocky, narrow, and steep at times, with lots of air off to one side.
Unfortunately, there will no riding available for less experienced rough road riders as part of the group, this is a recent change to the event.
Jeep sightseeing trips, the Durango-Silverton RR, and Mesa Verde National Park, are just 3 of the things that attract people to the area. The town of Silverton is located at 9200'. If you are a flatlander, you might want to plan for a day around 7000' (Bunea Vista or Gunnison) to give your body a chance to acclimate to the thin air.
