Ontario! Huntsville, Ontario, Canada Flower Sniffin' and Founder's Feast September 19-23, 2022 |
overflowing from nearby iconic Algonquin Provincial Park. Join in the fun of riding these great country roads along with fellowship and evening dining with good friends. And join us for our Annual Founders Feast on Thursday evening! |
Safety
In addition to requiring the use of a DOT approved helmet on all MTF rides, the MTF Flower Sniff'n Committee strongly encourages the use of Motorcycle specific protective clothing and footwear while participating in any Flower Sniff'n event. All-the-gear-All-the-time (ATGATT) reduces the severity of injuries in an accident and we want every participant in our events to be as safe as possible. Also the MTF Flower Sniff'n Committee strongly encourages each participant in our events to self assess their riding style, interests, need for breaks and riding skill level and to keep that assessment in mind when choosing a riding partner or small group (2-4 riders) to ride with at our events. Sharing the road with someone of similar interests and riding style not only makes the ride more enjoyable for you, but safer for everyone.
COVID-19 Safety
September is still several months away and no one knows
what will be happening with COVID-19 at that time. We
reserve the right to cancel this event if necessary. In the
meantime, please check the Ontario COVID-19 web page and keep up to date with
what's happening there.
Passport?
According to https://www.us-passport-service-guide.com/canada-travel-requirements.html:
COVID-19 Vaccination/Testing?
Vaccination and Testing requirements continue
to change. Please be sure to check https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada#at-border,
for the latest information.
From https://www.ezbordercrossing.com/travel-resources/speed-limits-u-s-and-canada/:
120 kilometers per hour is the fastest you
can go on a Canadian highway. The province of Ontario (where we will
be!) is especially strict, with maximum speed of 100 km/h. If you
are caught driving 50 kilometers per hour over the posted limit in
Ontario your car will be impounded. Below are typical speed limits you
will see on Canadian roads:
Type of Driving | Kilometers per hour | Miles per hour |
Multi-lane highway driving | 110 km/h | 66 mph |
Most 2-lane highways outside cities & towns | 80 km/h | 50 mph |
Major roads in urban and suburban areas | 60 – 70 km/h | 37 – 44 mph |
Residential streets | 40 – 50 km/h | 25 – 30 mph |
School zones | 30-50 km/h | 20-30 mph |
Canada has a zero-tolerance policy when it
comes to bringing a gun into the country. If you must do so, please see
this article.
Criminal Record?
Traveling to Canada with a criminal record may mean you will be denied entry into Canada. Under Canadian law if you’ve been convicted of a crime you may be considered “criminally inadmissible” depending on the severity and time since the offense. For more information see http://bordercrossing.ca/travel-to-canada-with-a-criminal-record/. You may be able to apply for a pardon. This site is one of many commercial services which could assist you. This is the official Canadian site for applying for a pardon.
