Safety
In addition to requiring the use of a DOT approved helmet on all MTF rides, the MTF Flower Sniff'n Committee strongly encourages the use of Motorcycle specific protective clothing and footwear while participating in any Flower Sniff'n event. All-the-gear-All-the-time (ATGATT) reduces the severity of injuries in an accident and we want every participant in our events to be as safe as possible. Also the MTF Flower Sniff'n Committee strongly encourages each
participant in our events to self assess their riding style, interests,
need for breaks and riding skill level and to keep that assessment in mind
when choosing a riding partner or small group (2-4 riders) to ride with at
our events. Sharing the road with someone of similar interests and riding
style not only makes the ride more enjoyable for you, but safer for
everyone.
COVID-19 Safety
May is still several months away and no one knows what
will be happening with COVID-19 at that time. We
reserve the right to cancel this event if necessary. In the
meantime, please check the Alabama COVID-19 web page and keep up to date with
what's happening there.

These 4 routes are courtesy of Bob Cust. The Barber Motorsports Museum, located in Birmingham AL, is dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, exhibition and history of motorcycles, vintage vehicles and motorsports. Visit the Jack Daniel's Distillery and take one of their tours. Discover their story of independence, their family of whiskeys, recipes, and their distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. There are 4 tours available ranging from $20 to $125. I highly recommend you go on the website, and make a reservation. The tours last about 1 and a half hours. I also recommend you plan on an hour or so downtown for a visit to the "hardware store". No hardware but a lot of JD stuff. Also several places for lunch (included in the $125 tour). If anyone wants to go as a group we can decide on a tour and time via email or the facebook page. This should probably be done in April to get reservations. Talladega Motorsports Museum is a hall of fame located adjacent to the 2.66 mi Talladega Superspeedway located in Talladega County, east central Alabama. It enshrines those who have contributed the most to motorsports either as a developer, driver, engineer or owner. The Barber and Talladega Motorsports can be combined as they are about 35 interstate miles apart, but this would limit the time available in the museums to get back for the group meal that night. Chattanooga Museums: visit the Battles For Chattanooga and the Chickamauga Battlefield Museum museums. |
